Parents 4 Parents is Back!!

Forge Launches Parents for Parents (P4P) Program in Spokane County

We are thrilled to announce that Forge is now the official host of the Parents for Parents (P4P) program in Spokane County. This transformative program is designed to provide peer mentorship, education, and resources to families navigating the child welfare system, empowering them to reunify with their children or achieve alternative permanency outcomes when reunification isn’t possible. P4P’s focus on early engagement and support ensures that families have the tools they need to thrive.

At the heart of P4P is the collaboration between Parent Allies — parents who have successfully navigated the child welfare system — and families currently involved in dependency cases. This peer-to-peer model fosters understanding, acceptance, and engagement, transforming what can often feel like an overwhelming process into one filled with hope and possibility.

To lead this initiative, Forge welcomes Gabe and Rebecca, who bring extensive experience and a shared passion for supporting families:

Gabe will serve as the Program Coordinator, bringing over 10 years of experience with the Spokane Parents Advocacy Network (SPAN), 2 years with the Washington State Parents Ally Committee (WSPAC), and 5+ years of Parent Ally work. Gabe’s background includes facilitating Dependency 101 and 201 classes, connecting families to resources, and supervising online support sessions. With up-to-date training in the P4P model and a proven ability to develop and deliver impactful programming, Gabe is ready to lead with expertise and compassion.

Rebecca will take on the role of Clinical Supervisor. She has been a Parent Ally since 2017 and brings over seven years of experience with SPAN and two years with WSPAC. Additionally, Rebecca has worked as a social worker with the Office of Public Defense since 2019, supporting families navigating the child welfare system. Her deep understanding of family dynamics and her ability to provide guidance and mentorship make her an invaluable asset to the P4P program.

Forge’s readiness to launch P4P is supported by our dedicated team of Parent Allies, strong community partnerships, and accessible office and meeting spaces. We are committed to delivering a program that adheres to the P4P model while tailoring it to meet the unique needs of Spokane County’s families. With Gabe’s leadership, Rebecca’s clinical expertise, and our collective dedication, we aim to create meaningful change and foster stronger, healthier families.

We invite the community to join us in supporting this impactful program. Whether you’re a parent seeking guidance, a professional looking to collaborate, or a community member wanting to get involved, we welcome you to be part of the P4P journey. Together, we can create a brighter future for Spokane County’s families.
